Automotive

EFI started in automotive in 1976 and never left. The quality system, the location and the habits are all automotive.

EFI was founded in 1976 as a custom injection molder for the automotive industry. Five decades later automotive is still half the business, balanced against a diversified non-automotive base.

The company is registered to IATF 16949:2016 - the automotive industry's own quality management standard - for the manufacture of custom injection molded, over-molded and assembled components. For an OEM or Tier supplier, that registration is the entry requirement, and EFI has held it under Intertek audit.

EFI is in Troy, Michigan, inside the automotive supply base - close enough for the engineering conversations that do not survive a time zone gap.
