Injection Molding
EFI has been running custom injection molding since 1976. The work spans large OEM programs and first-run startup volumes, under one IATF 16949-registered quality system.
01 Core process
Production molding for programs that run from first article to millions of parts a year.
From large OEMs to small startups, EFI partners with customers to take a part from a print to a repeatable production process - with the precision, process control and quality discipline the automotive industry demands.
Molding for the automotive industry since 1976 sets the default standard: controlled processes, documented quality, and parts that land the same way every run.

ADVANTAGES
Automotive-grade quality system
Production runs under an IATF 16949:2016 registered management system.
Volume flexibility
Programs from low-volume and launch quantities through high-volume production.
One supplier, more of the part
Molding, over-molding, laser marking and assembly under one roof and one PO.
Domestic manufacturing
Produced in Troy, Michigan - inside the automotive supply base.
Injection molding: inside the press
Injection molding
- 01
Hopper
Plastic pellets are fed into the molding machine.
- 02
Barrel & screw
Material is heated and conveyed forward by a rotating screw.
- 03
Injection
Molten polymer is injected into the mold under pressure.
- 04
Mold
The material fills the cavity and takes the required shape.
- 05
Cooling
The part cools and solidifies against the mold surfaces.
- 06
Ejection
The finished part is released from the mold.
An illustration of the injection molding process on a two-platen press of the type EFI runs. It is a technical representation, not a scan of a specific machine, and no dimensions or process parameters should be inferred from it.
